Kim Ozment

Kim graduated high school in Mesa, Arizona with honors and attended Arizona State University, majoring in Zoology with a minor in Ag Science. She took a break from college to homeschool her three children in grades K-12. While homeschooling, she taught elementary at a private school and Ag Science at the local high school. She also assisted in summer youth instruction at the University of Arizona. She has owned four businesses in various fields including transportation, fitness, art, and fashion. Being self employed led Kim to go back to school at the University of Phoenix in 2008, where she got her degree in Business. Kim holds black belts in several martial art styles and held the rank of Master Instructor, teaching youth and adults for over 10 years. In 2011, Kim returned to The Phoenix Zoo where she had worked in the 1980s while earning her zoology degree. This time she put her business degree to work and was hired as a supervisor. It was there that she met her husband, Derek, who also teaches here at CMASAS. Kim and Derek left Arizona in 2013 to move to the island of Kaua'i, where they enjoy hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkeling whenever they are not busy with their students! CMASAS has allowed Kim and Derek to reach students around the globe and not just teach but share a lifetime of experiences with them and their families.
