Our highly personalized approach allows students to engage in their academics and become passionate about learning. The spark of curiosity and thirst for knowledge comes alive in students through our self-paced, mastery-based, personalized style of online education.

Based on the latest educational research, CMASAS created a process and practice for students to encounter personal educational growth in a positively charged and supportive environment. From the personalization we use in designing our courses to how our Personalized Education Coaches and Course Instructors interact and engage with students, the tenets of our model are our guiding principles.

Here are some examples of how we personalize our online courses:

• Courses are modified to better fit a student’s learning preference (making the course more visual, auditory, text-based, etc.). 
• Students are given choices on how they want to present a project.
• Supplemental material is offered if a student is struggling on a concept.
• Students are provided with the ability to incorporate their passions into an assignment.

 

PERSONALIZED EDUCATION   
PLANS (PEP)

 

Every student has their own Personalized Education Plan (PEP) and is assigned a dedicated and experienced online Personal Education Coach (PEC) and Course Instructors (CI) who provide one-on-one personalized attention to help guide students in their course planning, organizational skills, course curriculum, and fulfillment of graduation requirements.

 

PERSONALIZED ATTENTION

 

Our instructional support team nurtures the whole student and guides them on their educational journey. Students receive weekly or daily check-ins from PECs depending on their tuition level. PECs are advocates and partners, keeping students on track and accountable to their goals and guiding them through course selection and planning. CIs are mentors, offering guidance and feedback while respecting the diverse needs and goals of each student.

 

TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS

 

At CMASAS, education is a personal journey, not a destination. Students become aware of what, why, when, where, and how they learn best. They are empowered to think about planning, organizing, monitoring, and assessing their understanding and performance. This focus on the process of learning allows students to transfer their knowledge and skills from one subject to another, leading to success.

 

 

 

MASTERY AND PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

 

Our personalized education model is mastery based, which offers students a small course load of 1-3 classes and requires students to achieve a grade of 80% or above to reach course mastery and completion. In addition, much of the curriculum is project-based, providing students with the opportunity to relate coursework to something that matters to them. This enhances life-long learning that transcends the classroom.

 

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

 

Students also learn to identify and understand cause-and-effect relationships that they encounter. Often this personal development leads to students serving their local communities, nations, and the world at large. Our students also graduate with the proficient use of advanced technology and strong communications skills.

 

ASYNCHRONOUS

 

Courses are delivered in an asynchronous format so students can work at their own pace, on their own time schedule. Our model offers students the ability to accelerate or decelerate time to complete each course, without worrying about semester end dates. Online classes are not live lectures, but interactive, dynamic lessons that access a variety of modalities to engage the learner.
