This course provides an introduction to Science, Energy, Force, Weather, Climate, The Earth’s Systems, and the Living World. Some topics are explored in depth while others are introduced to serve as building blocks for later grade levels. During this course, students will explore science through everyday examples and experiences. Students will participate in activities and online laboratory experiences to apply what they have learned.
Students learn the characteristics of living things, plant and animal cell structures, the characteristics of unicellular and multi-cellular life, genetics, evolution, classification of organisms, and animal behavior. Students explore the human anatomy and systems, ecology, and conservation. Students are also introduced to laboratory principles and practices.
Physical Science is the study of the nature and structure of matter and the characteristics of energy. Physical Science A begins with the exploration of the scientific method and how matter is measured. Students then delve deeper into the study of matter by investigating its properties and the forms in which it exists. Different states of matter are discussed as well as its ability to occur as elements, compounds, and mixtures. With this knowledge, student learn about the basic unit of a
