Evette loves teaching math. When students have the “aha!” moment, it is extremely exciting! She has found that many students have a poor image of themselves as mathematicians. However, Evette believes that every student can be successful in a challenging math curriculum, given appropriate support and effort. Inspiring every student and helping them get excited about math is Evette's goal.
Evette has taught at the high school and junior high levels. She has experience teaching and tutoring in all math classes from Pre-Algebra through Calculus. She has taught SAT prep classes (math portion).
During her undergraduate studies, Evette focused on math and science and received two degrees in engineering. She believes that her enthusiasm for math and its perfection are a great asset. She is excited to share the joy with a student when they “get it,” and it impels her to continue this great vocation.
Evette was CMASAS Teacher of the Year in 2019.
