LETTER FROM THE K-8 LEAD

Daisy

Welcome to the CMASAS learning community where students from around the globe have a personalized education that empowers them to make a difference in the lives of others, and, to “Touch the Future!” (a mission close to the heart of our school’s namesake, U.S. Astronaut and Teacher, Christa McAuliffe).

We are not your typical online private K-12 school. We deliver what other programs can’t - we are a WASC-accredited institution that provides a personalized learning experience tailored to each individual student. We differentiate ourselves from other online schools by not just making the ordinary exceptional, but through our Personalized Education Philosophy which drives everything we do so students feel supported, empowered, and cared for.

Our team of faculty and staff partner with parents to support our students with caring guidance, knowledge, and high standards. We are a multicultural community dedicated to celebrating one another’s successes and differences as we reach for the stars to achieve our personal goals and dreams. Our program promotes innovation, critical thinking, and discipline. At CMASAS, we believe that parents are an essential part of their child’s education. Parents can help partner with us effectively by maintaining clear and open lines of communication and provided a dedicated and consistent work schedule and environment for their student.

Students who are most successful at CMASAS focus on clear and timely communication, attend homeroom, attend PEC meetings, join and participate in clubs, and build meaningful connections with their peers at CMASAS. We never want you to feel isolated or disconnected from your school community.

Thanks for taking an interest in CMASAS. We hope to guide you along your educational path in the future!

HOW WE SERVE

The school uses a Personalized Education Model to fit the needs of today’s generation. Seasoned online professionals help to foster a sense of community where new ideas can take root and grow more easily… where innovation is welcomed and applauded. On average, our faculty, and Personalized Education Coaches (PECs) have worked 15 years in education and 5 years at our school.

Every student has their own Personalized Education Plan (PEP) and is assigned a dedicated and experienced online PEC and CI, who provide one-on-one personalized attention to help guide students in their course planning, organizational skills, course curriculum, and fulfillment of graduation requirements. Families love the flexibility of schedule and the ability to shape their classes to address students’ interests and learning styles.

HOW WE CONNECT

Students’ weekly PEC check-ins could potentially consist of creating weekly goals, encouraging course progress, guidance counseling, and college research support. Students also benefit from attending weekly homerooms and clubs hosted through Microsoft Teams. Students make friends with students from around the globe, have opportunities to meet in person at 5-6 U.S. Regional Gatherings, an international trip and at graduation each year.

OUR SCHOOL'S HISTORY

Christa McAuliffe’s Legacy… Touch The Future

who-we-are-christa-mcauliffe

Inspired by the heroic life and acting in her memory, CMASAS honors Christa McAuliffe by educating the next generation of global leaders. CMASAS opened in July 2009 and is the culmination of over 25 years of combined experience, knowledge, and perseverance in alternative education of its Co-founder and Executive Director Christopher Geis.

The founding of our school was inspired by our namesake, Christa McAuliffe, who was selected to become the first schoolteacher to fly into space. Her mission was aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger, where she served as a payload specialist. Her desire to inspire future generations continues to be fostered at our school through our Personalized Education Model. Inspired by her heroic life and acting in her memory, CMASAS honors Christa McAuliffe by educating the next generation of global leaders, scientists, philosophers, artists, and teachers.

Since 2009, CMASAS has grown from its rather humble beginnings into a thriving worldwide organization headquartered in the Pacific Northwest. CMASAS operates under Personalized Education Group, Inc., an educational management organization. Our knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate team of administrators, office staff, and educators foster a sense of community and an atmosphere of harmony where new ideas can take root and grow more easily and where innovation is welcomed and applauded.
