Are you stressed out? Thousands of you just snorted into your fifth cup of coffee. Okay, it was a silly question. Most of us who yearn to make a difference in the world, to find, or in the case of many online students, to create a new path wherein to share our unique purpose with the world, have a lot on our plates. The natural result is, you guessed it, stress. When you’re stressed, you don’t want to “breathe.” It seems like, as Stacey Schuerman says in her Stacey Schuerman’s deeply insightful TED-x Talk, “a daily indulgence you don’t have time for.” Schuerman is the owner of a Yoga studio. She discovered Yoga after an injury up-ended her life.
In this bite-sized video, Stacey leads us through a five-minute exercise, demonstrating the power of taking just five-minutes each day and connecting to the breath.
Today, let’s challenge each other to take five minutes to focus on the breath. Check out Stacey’s TED-x Talk for a relaxing guide to tuning in, or do your own thing. Afterward, check in with yourself. How do you feel after spending five minutes on self-care?
